My blanket
My comfort in the dark
You hold me in your arms
And console me into slumber
Your warmth, a draught
That sends me drifting
Into the sleep of the drunk
But sleep is fleeting
"It's the sugars", they say
And my mind, to it's torment,
Again gives way
I repeat it
I review it
I chop it up
And chew it
Until I am thrumming
With the speed of my thoughts
Then...
You calm me
With your softness and a
Downy carress (tender)
On my shoulder. It brings me back
To your embrace
My Blanket
